I'm trying to kickstart some Andrew-related conversation, but I honestly don't feel as though I have anything to discuss re: the man.
UNLESS
You guys want to play the "What's your favorite misheard lyric?" game?
Take It Off has an especially good opportunity, as the "Take! It! Offff!" in the beginning is indecipherable. He sounds like he's shouting "cake", so I do, as well.
I refuse to sing the real words to Don't Stop Living in the Red, as I much prefer "Don't stop smokin' cigarettes; you were always smokin' cigarettes". Yeah, I know, it doesn't really sound like he's saying that, but don't you wish he were?
"The girl's too young, she don't eat any butter!"
I also do not feel as though I should have to sing the actual lyrics during the end of the second verse of Tear It Up. Rhythmic screaming does the trick. "Rar-rar-rarrarrarrarrarrarrar-raaaar!" What? Oh, so hilarious.
Anybody else?

In Girls Own Love I have always sang 'Red hot satanist' instead of 'Red hot set of lips I think it goes much better personally!
And as for 'Take it off' it always sounded like 'Keep it loud' to me...I still have to remind myself that I am wrong!
And finally on 'We want fun' I misheard 'hoping theres antidote' as 'A whole 'nother level-o' I did think at the time 'thats a strange line to put in there'... and relistening to it now I cant see how I ever thought that was the line! |

| I'm not the only one to have misheard "it's not too late" in it'stimetoparty as "it's 1990", but it's one of my favorite lines. I was recently listening to some tapes of myself in 1990 and they are just completely wacky, crazy six-year-old humor and tape-distorting singing, it doesn't sound good but it sounds like totally innocent joy in making sound and being silly and life in general...much like what awk often inspires! so, 1990 is an appropriate year to be mentioned, for me. conjures a sense of awe |

Here is a link to amiright.com where it seems we are not the only ones who have our own interpretations of Andrews lyrics!

In She is Beautiful I hear;
'The girl's too young she don't need Eddie Vedder.'
I'm sure there are others, just can't think of them right now. |
