In 2001 music as we had known would never be the same. The face of music was evolving. The face which began that rollercoaster was that of Andrew Wilkes-krier.
To appreciate Andrew W.K. first you have to understand the man behind the music. A man so dedicated to his fans that he gives his time, his strength, his energy and asks for nothing in return apart from you having a good time. And that is what the fans do, high kicks, star jumps, the lot. Joining Andrew on stage and singing along arms entwined like they have known each other their whole lives. This is more than music, this is a way of life.
Andrew W.K. was heralded by the NME as the 'Saviour of music' a lot of people would disagree but not the massive fan base that supports him, why would they? A man who gives 110% at all times, who doesnt just sign his name on autographs but writes a whole essay, who set up an email address for his fans to contact him. Andrew W.K. gives something back to the fans that support him and that is why he is respected and why his fans will never desert him.
If you have met Andrew then you know without a shadow of a doubt that he is the most genuine person you could of ever hoped to have met. Andrew has standards that never drop, he maintains the same love for music and life that he aways has.
Not everyone shares the enthusiasm for Andrew W.K. but when has everyone ever agreed about anything? People are entitled to their opinions they may not like the music but they would find it hard to deny the fact that Andrew is a 100% bona fide nice guy.
He is our friend Andrew W.K. and he will never let down.
